The Event

The 5K 4 Kids is a certified and timed 5 kilometer (3.1 mile) course that winds through the historic Victoria Park neighborhood in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.  The event is open to all ages and experience levels of runners and walkers.

The Saint Anthony Knights of Columbus have selected as the 2017 primary beneficiary of the 5K4Kids the Children’s Diagnostic & Treatment Center in Fort Lauderdale.

Established in 1983 as the follow-up program of the state’s Regional Perinatal Intensive Care Center system, the Children’s Diagnostic & Treatment center (CDTC) has grown to be one of the largest children’s agencies in south Florida, serving over 10,000 children and youth annually. The Center’s focus has always been to provide medical care, case management, social services, and other types of intervention to children and    adolescents with chronic illnesses and developmental disabilities and to provide support and education to their families.

The 2017 5k4kids secondary beneficiary is the Saint Anthony Foundation for Education (SAFE). The Saint Anthony Foundation for Education is committed to ensuring that children throughout greater Fort Lauderdale continue to receive the highest levels of academic, moral and spiritual formation regardless of their families’ ability to pay. Our mission is to keep tuition affordable while providing financial assistance to those in need. Because tuition alone does not cover the cost of educating a child, the Foundation helps bridge the gap by providing teacher salary enhancements and funding critical educational projects.

The Cause

The Saint Anthony Knights of Columbus have selected as the 2018 primary beneficiary of the 5K4Kids the Children’s Diagnostic & Treatment Center in Fort Lauderdale.

The Saint Anthony Knights of Columbus selects one local children’s charity each year as our primary beneficiary to receive 75% of that year’s proceeds of the 5K4Kids, and we donate the remaining 25% to the Saint Anthony Foundation for Education to provide scholarships for children throughout greater Fort Lauderdale.

The Sponsors

5K 4 Kids Sponsorship Levels

Print deadline January 2nd

There are many ways to support our efforts this year to assist needy children with cancer and their families. Sponsorships and donations from local businesses, organizations and individuals are, of course, vital and are tax deductible. Sponsorship opportunities are listed below.

If you are unable to commit to a sponsorship or donation, there are other ways to participate that would be extremely valuable.  You or your business may provide services or products to help defray the cost of the event. You could also assist in seeking sponsors, donors or participants. The 5K 4Kids is a great way to get your family, your friends and/or your business involved in a fun event and support a very worthy cause.

The Host

We are an order of Catholic gentlemen whose Founding Principles are charity, unity, fraternity and patriotism. We are committed to living our faith by serving our families, community, parish and Church. While we are the largest lay Catholic organization in the world, the Knights of Columbus are very much a grassroots organization. We are locally organized and locally focused. We provide members and their families volunteer opportunities in service to the Catholic Church and our parishes, communities, families, and youth. In 2012 the Knights of Columbus at all levels of the organization raised and distributed $167.5 million to charity and volunteered more than 70 million hours to charitable causes.  For more information, please visit our council website at www.kofc13118.org.
